Beachwood Volunteer Fire Company Preliminary Application
Join Your Neighbor, Support Your Community - Volunteer
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a resident of Beachwood for a at least six months
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must pass a physicians given physical
- Provide a chest X-Ray (our company will help you set this up)
- Serve a six-month probationary period
- Commit to two hours every Wednesday night for the first 6 months to house duty
- Commit to second and fourth Fridays of the month for Meetings and Drills
- Pass 130 hours of Firefighter Level One Training at the Ocean County Fire Academy

Please take the time to fill out this preliminary application.
** After completion of the preliminary application you will be contacted for an interview and to fill out a complete application. After that process is complete your application then goes to the state of New Jersey for approval, then back to us, then the Borough of Beachwood for approval. The total length of time usually is 6-8 weeks, after which time you will be notified by us and asked to join us at our regularly scheduled meeting.
